Medical Oncology Nurse at Williamson Health

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncology Nurse to join our team at Williamson Health in Franklin, Tennessee.

About the Role

This is a PRN Nights position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care while coordinating nursing activities and implementing care plans in our Medical/Oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform a comprehensive assessment on all patients within the appropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
  2. Plan the patient's care on an individual basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
  3. Plan for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
  4. Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment and no pattern or trend of problem.
  5. Handle/transports/stores/prepares/administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
  • Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • For 3rd-floor telemetry unit: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • For float pool and float pool extended: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • For critical care: Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire; AACN, CCRN, or CCP certification within two years of hire.
  • For Oncology: ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire.
  • For Adult Emergency Room: At least one year of emergency experience preferred; TNCC Preferred; ACLS within 6 months of hire; PALS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • For Pediatric Medical Surgical: At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred; PALS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire.
  • For Pediatric Emergency Room: At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred; PALS within 6 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification (8-hour, non-physical training) within 6 months of hire; ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
