Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente seeks a skilled Nurse Manager to oversee the operations of 24-hour departments, ensuring high-quality patient care services and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, leadership experience, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage departmental operations, including staff supervision, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement patient care and service standards to meet member and internal client expectations.
  • Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business objectives.
  • Oversee and develop standards of care and practice, direct fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum four (4) years of clinical nursing experience, including four (4) years of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a Masters Degree in Nursing earned through a direct entry MSN program.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of management experience.
  • One (1) year of Magnet/shared governance experience.
  • One (1) year of managing in a bargaining environment.
  • Masters degree.
