Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Production Foreman to oversee and supervise all component or millwork production activities at one of our locations. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and assigning work to meet or exceed output and productivity goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and supervise individuals and work teams in the performance of various work activities, including work process setup, assembly, sheathing, and stacking.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of work processes and identify opportunities for improvement to optimize productivity.
  • Provide on-the-job skills and quality standards training to new and seasoned employees to ensure learning and self-development opportunities exist for production staff.
  • Meet with teams and lead workers to inform them of daily, weekly, and monthly production goals, encourage questions and suggestions, and provide feedback on accomplishments and upcoming challenges.
  • Supervise other activities, such as maintaining inventory levels, unloading, storage, and movement of raw materials, placement, and loading of finished products for shipping and delivery.
  • While primarily a supervisory role, may be required to perform duties of assigned employees.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices, overseeing the activities of other employees to prevent injury to self or coworkers, and attend periodic safety meetings as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and five (5) years' experience performing and coordinating component manufacturing activities, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of company products, production processes, and product standards.
  • Skilled in the use of all tools and equipment used for component manufacture at the location.
  • Ability to execute plans/projects through others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
  • May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
