Job Overview

The Aerospace Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in the systems engineering lifecycle, facilitating the development of helicopter systems, integration, and modifications across various CHI platforms. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather, develop, and publish comprehensive system requirements. The specialist will create systems architectures, define functions, and design innovative solutions. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the development and implementation phases is a key responsibility. Additionally, the role includes specifying and leading integration and testing activities at the systems, system of systems, and platform levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 25% Capture and develop system requirements.
  • 15% Design system architecture and solutions.
  • 15% Create detailed specifications, including Interface Specifications.
  • 10% Collaborate with Technical Project Leadership to conduct trade and feasibility studies for potential solutions.
  • 10% Act as the SME for the development team.
  • 10% Establish Validation and Verification criteria and tests, including acceptance tests for deliverables.
  • 10% Define and coordinate system integration activities.
  • 5% Provide technical leadership for assigned projects and serve as the technical point of contact.
  • Conduct oneself in alignment with the Company's Core Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Software, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Aviation Industry.
  • Preferred experience in a Systems Engineering role.
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A and/or ARP4761 is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the FAA Certification process is desired, specifically 14 CFR Part 21, 29, and 43.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present ideas, concepts, and proposals to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, including logical and critical thinking.
  • Proficient in maintaining positive working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
