Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for implementing standards of care for speech language pathology services and adhering to all conditions in the Service Agreement. This role requires a strong understanding of speech language pathology principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
* Conducts appropriate evaluative procedures to assess patient needs and identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
* Identifies functional speech defects and establishes goals and plans of care to improve patient function and participates in the development of the plan of care.
* Administers speech therapy programs utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment.
* Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
* Confers with referring physicians and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care with the interdisciplinary group.
* Participates in interdisciplinary groups, in-services, and other meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
* Prepares and submits clinical and progress records per office policy or federal/state regulations.
* Maintains clinical competency in speech language pathology practice and theory.
* Instructs patients and family/caregivers and other team members in the patient's treatment regime as indicated.
* Performs other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech language pathology services and swallowing assistive services.
Qualifications
* Possesses a degree that includes an internship from an approved master's program in Speech-Language Pathology, or as required by applicable law and/or regulation.
* Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
* Is certified to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
* A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
* Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
* Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
