About Our Operations Team

Become part of the dedicated Operations Team at The Salvation Army. Together, we can continue to serve and impact our local community through our commitment to "Do The Most Good" at our Canoga Park Distribution Center, which supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This is an opportunity to work as a team and utilize your skills as a driver while contributing to the success of our Program and its participants.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Class B/C Driver to join our Operations Team. As a representative of The Salvation Army, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading assigned trucks, managing your time to ensure routes are completed within the approved work schedule, and providing excellent customer service to our donors.

Responsibilities
  • Follow daily routing directions and avoid going off route without exception.
  • Manage your time daily to ensure the route is completed within the approved work schedule.
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of assigned truck.
  • Train, instruct, and supervise truck helper in their Work Therapy Assignment (WTA).
  • Responsible for Bag & Tag as instructed by Supervisor and procedure.
  • Ensure all customers are treated courteously and with good customer service.
  • Abide by all DOT regulations and state and local laws while maintaining a safe driving record.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license (Class B or C).
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic equipment used for daily route information.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands

The ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to lift up to 100lbs. Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Schedule

Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage. Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
