Job Summary

Woodlands Animal Hospital Inc is a veterinary hospital seeking a compassionate and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinate animal care, and monitor animal recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Veterinarian with appointments and conduct technician appointments under their guidance.
  • Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history and take vital signs and acquire blood samples.
  • Collect samples and prepare/process labs, assist with surgeries and dental procedures, and monitor animals after surgery.
  • Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients, and keep accurate and timely patient records.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician and ability to obtain blood samples, insert IVs, intubate, induce and monitor anesthesia.
  • Knowledge of animal care and handling, excellent communication skills, and ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment.
  • Patience and a love for animals, and knowledge of Pulse and CVT a plus.
