Job Description
Woodlands Animal Hospital Inc is a fast-paced veterinary hospital seeking a compassionate and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinate animal care, and monitor animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all our pet patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Veterinarian with appointments and procedures
  • Conduct technician appointments under the guidance of the Veterinarian
  • Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
  • Take vital signs and acquire blood samples
  • Collect samples and prepare/process labs
  • Assist with surgeries and dental procedures
  • Monitor animals after surgery and prepare go-home instructions
  • Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
  • Keep accurate and timely patient records
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician
  • Ability to obtain blood samples, insert IVs, intubate, induce and monitor anesthesia
  • Knowledge of animal care and handling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
  • Patience and a love for animals
  • Knowledge of Pulse a plus
  • CVT a huge plus
