Job Responsibilities:

The Blood Collection Specialist will be responsible for:

1. Executing blood draw procedures with precision and within designated timeframes.
2. Identifying and addressing any unusual or unexpected situations prior to specimen delivery.
3. Ensuring timely transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
4. Providing courteous and professional responses to inquiries via phone.
5. Monitoring the integrity of specimens throughout the collection process.
6. Accurately entering patient orders into the relevant information systems.
7. Ensuring compliance with medical necessity documentation.
8. Adhering to safety standards set forth by regulatory bodies and the organization.
9. Contributing to the smooth operation of the laboratory environment.
10. Engaging in ongoing educational opportunities to enhance professional skills.
11. Performing additional tasks as directed by laboratory management.

Qualifications:

Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. CPR certification from a recognized provider.

Preferred:
1. Certification in Phlebotomy.
