Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Center Associate to join our team at Goodwill of Central & Coastal Virginia. As a key member of our donation processing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely, safe, and accurate receipt and sorting of donations at our Attended Donation Centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to donors, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Sort and Process Donations: Pre-sort and sort donations as received, ensuring that all items are properly categorized and prepared for processing.
  • Load and Prepare Shipments: Safely and efficiently load donations for shipment, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, ensuring that all donations are processed in accordance with Goodwill's standards.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain effective communication with the ADC Manager and Transportation team, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of donation processing activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  • No Prior Experience Necessary: We welcome applicants with no prior experience in donation processing or a related field.
  • Certifications and Security Clearance: No professional certifications are required for this position. However, the associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: The associate will be required to lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds. The work environment will involve frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions, including temperature, noise, fumes, and dust.
