Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will work under the supervision of nursing staff to provide direct care to consumers in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF-IID) setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and using the toilet. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to all written rules and regulations, and ensuring the comfort and safety of consumers.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide physical support to assist consumers with daily living activities, such as transfers, eating, drinking, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
  2. Review consumer dining plans to ensure the appropriate consistency/diet is served at all meals and ensure consumers take nutritional supplements.
  3. Measure and record food and liquid intake/output reports changes to medical or nursing staff and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration rate, as directed by medical or nursing staff.
  4. Clean and sanitize consumers' rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, change bed linens, and restock consumer rooms with personal hygiene items.
  5. Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Knowledge of assistive nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail, accurately communicate and record observations, and carefully read and follow directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, work in a team environment, and lift and move individuals.
