Cybersecurity Team Lead

The Cybersecurity Team Lead will oversee a team of security control assessors to conduct comprehensive assessments of management, operational, technical, and privacy security controls employed within or inherited by an information system. This role will lead the team to efficiently manage the workload and provide risk results that determine the overall effectiveness of the controls and the extent to which the controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome with respect to meeting the security requirements for the system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and prioritize security control assessment tasks of a team of 7 and 100+ systems.
- Create and manage to an agreed-upon assessment schedule.
- Collaborate and communicate with government clients on topics such as assessment plans, status, and issues.
- Develop and update assessment processes, including SOPs, plans, checklists, and templates.
- Perform reviews of technical security assessments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommended mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field of study.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in cybersecurity or information assurance.
- Minimum 3 years' recent experience as a Security Control Assessor.
- Minimum 3 years' management experience in leading a team and workload, while producing the desired outcome of meeting security requirements for the system.
- At start date, must possess one of the following professional certifications in ACTIVE Status: CISM, CISSP, or GSLC.
- Possess a strong understanding of NIST (Common Controls, Inheritance), FISMA, and Cloud Environments.
- Able to quickly adjust to changing priorities.
- Be very comfortable briefing and working with senior client leadership.
- Have strong soft skills to manage team and client interactions and issues.
- Have strong problem-solving skills to determine how to meet client objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail (thoroughness, accuracy, and consistency) ability for all team work products.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively across multi-functional teams and audiences of varying seniority and expertise.
