Job Title: Creative Designer for Art and Prints

We are seeking a highly skilled Creative Designer for Art and Prints to join our team at AmyColeConnect. This role is ideal for a trend-forward designer with experience in designing for the young junior and contemporary customer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and collaborate on seasonal pattern, color, and graphics from concept through to execution for line plans and special product launches.
  • Collaborate with Design leads and Merchants to conceive the overarching category needs that tie into the seasonal concept.
  • Create artwork and colorways for yard dyes, jacquards, and special fabric developments.
  • Ensure that print charts, walls, archives, and boards are in working order and up to date for all teams to use as a reference.
  • Leverage resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and conduct ongoing competitor research and trend analysis.
  • Synthesize trend research analysis with pattern and color ideation and delivery needs as well as production techniques.
  • Understand the Target junior and contemporary customer, the brand's visual DNA, and use of color, pattern, and graphic assets, reviewing opportunities and successes with trend relevance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Fashion, Textiles, or Surface Pattern Design.
  • Art and Print direction work for Target Wild Fable and Shade & Shore preferred but not required.
  • 7+ years of relevant design experience, some or all specific to print and textile design.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to hand sketch.
  • Good understanding of print processes and techniques on a production and mill level.
  • Experience in placement and engineered prints and how to format these to sketches and pattern pieces.
  • Strong design and conceptual skills, strong sense of style and color.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, ability to form partnerships to collaborate, influence, and drive change.
Salary Range:

$110,000 to $150,000 dependent on experience.
