We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Engineer to join our Protection Policy and Control Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technical policies, guidelines, and standards related to protection and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development of substation automation and IEC 61850 engineering policies and standards related to protection and control systems and equipment.
- Represent the Company on industry organizations, committees, and groups and participate in the formulation of industry-wide standards and practices.
- Manage and develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and/or recommendations.
- Provide technical support to various departments including, but not limited to, engineering, operations, procurement, information technology, and operational technology.
- Support the delivery of IEC 61850-based substation projects in the capital work plan.
- Review and develop the IEC 61850 test lab for troubleshooting, testing, training, and developing standards.
- Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports of technical problems, investigative findings, and engineering recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplined project team.
- Bachelor's or Master's in degree Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025.
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025.
- Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.
- Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.
