Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural phase.
- Adhere to aseptic sterile techniques in accordance with the standards set by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN).
- Assess patient responses to treatments and interventions.
- Manage and alleviate patient pain effectively.
- Anticipate specific needs based on procedural knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology.
Requirements:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to hire or transfer.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing or a current home state license for multi-state recognition (Compact State) required prior to hire or transfer.
Education:
- Graduate of a board-approved Registered Nurse Program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required.
