Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up equipment, instruments, and supplies according to the type of procedure.
  • Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, demonstrating advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role.
  • Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by retracting tissues under direction.
  • Identify and care for specimens.
  • Teach scrub role to newly hired Surgical Technologists and RNs.
Requirements
  • Certificate Program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification.
