We are seeking a highly skilled Structural and Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Konecranes. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing crane systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex analytical calculations to compute stresses in crane components, using industry-standard software such as MathCad and ANSYS.
- Evaluate the static strength and fatigue life of fasteners, shafts, bearings, and gears, adhering to industry standards such as AWS D1.1/D14.1, AISC, CMAA, and AGMA.
- Develop and maintain detailed 3-D ANSYS models of overhead, gantry, and jib cranes to simulate their behavior during seismic events.
- Perform global and local buckling analysis of crane components, ensuring compliance with CMAA, FEM, EN, and NOG requirements.
- Optimize bridge girders and other crane components, considering geometry and functional constraints such as buckling, yielding, and fatigue.
- Stay up-to-date with industry codes and standards, including ASCE and IBC.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering; Master's or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or structural calculations for steel equipment; 5 years preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
