Mechanical Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural and Mechanical Analysis Engineer to join our team at Konecranes. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing analytical calculations to compute the stresses developed in structural and mechanical components of cranes.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform static and fatigue failure theories based on stress life approach to compute allowable stresses according to industry standards.
- Evaluate the static strength and fatigue life of fasteners, shafts, bearings, and gears, with expertise in standards like AWS D1.1/D14.1, AISC, CMAA, and AGMA.
- Use MathCad, ANSYS, and other in-house built analytical tools to perform and present mechanical and structural calculations of crane components.
- Develop programs in MathCAD, Excel, and APDL to standardize and automate calculations.
- Build detailed 3-D ANSYS models of overhead, gantry, and jib cranes to simulate behavior during seismic events.
- Perform global and local buckling analysis of crane and crane components using Eigen value analysis, Nonlinear analysis, and analytical calculations.
- Optimize bridge girders and other crane components subjected to various geometry and functional constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering, with a preference for a Master's degree or PhD.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience performing mechanical or structural calculations for steel equipment, with a preference for 5 years of experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
