Key Responsibilities:

As a critical member of the team, you will:
  • Facilitate budget execution processes for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) divisions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets, tools, and templates to support regular reporting and meetings.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial processes are effectively implemented.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast potential budgetary challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide detailed analyses and recommendations regarding financial management activities.
Position Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree along with at least one year of experience in federal budgeting or a related field. Alternatively, four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Strong ability to convert complex data into clear, user-friendly spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in presenting findings to management.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating management's inquiries and addressing their needs.
  • Capability to sift through extensive data to provide timely responses to management questions.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively manage customer expectations and respond to requests.
  • Willingness to seek assistance when necessary to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with NOAA accounting systems and familiarity with government financial systems is advantageous. A passion for the mission of NOAA is also a plus.
