Reporting to the Health and Wellness Director (RN), this is a salaried, exempt role responsible for the creation, implementation, and management of the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program. This position is dedicated to equipping young individuals for future success by exemplifying, guiding, and supervising excellence in key Career Success Standards, including workplace relations and ethics, information management, communication skills, multicultural awareness, personal growth and development, career and personal planning, interpersonal skills, and independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

Uphold and demonstrate the core values and operational principles of Eckerd Connects. Develop, execute, and oversee all initiatives related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in collaboration with the Mental Health Consultant, Health Services staff, center physician, and Center Director. Coordinate programs aimed at reducing and eliminating substance use and abuse while adhering to the Department of Labor/Job Corps guidelines. Facilitate training sessions for both staff and students on all aspects of substance use and abuse. Provide recommendations to the Center Director regarding medical terminations related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, and Health and Wellness Director (RN). Serve as a liaison between the center and external agency resources and referral contacts. Monitor the behavior and progress of students participating in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program. Maintain confidential records and reports on all referrals and cases. Prepare and submit necessary reports as required. Attend mandatory staff training sessions. Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate Career Success Standards and employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer proficiency. Ensure accountability of staff, students, and property while adhering to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Foster a respectful and harassment-free environment to provide a safe space for staff and students to work and learn. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets the minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the relevant state. Preferred one year of relevant work experience. Preferred experience working with youth populations. Preferred Master's degree and prior experience with disadvantaged youth, particularly in a residential context. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Comprehensive knowledge of counseling techniques. Familiarity with alcohol and other drugs of abuse intervention programs. Ability to design, develop, and implement programs related to alcohol and other drugs of abuse and interventions. Proficient training skills in both individual and group counseling methods. Strong organizational skills. Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate and relate to the trainee population. Proficiency in operating office equipment and computer systems. Must be able to collaborate with team members and maintain effective working relationships with all facility staff and departments.
