About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Clinical Health Psychology to join our team at the University of Minnesota. This is a full-time, regular position on the Academic Track with Excellence in Clinical Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services, including psychotherapy, consultation, and assessment, to adult medical patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including administration and interpretation of standardized instruments.
  • Document clinical services, including billing and prior authorization.
  • Meet clinical expectations for quality and quantity of services provided.
  • Participate in research activities, including study design, implementation, and manuscript preparation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in departmental and divisional meetings.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Completed psychology internship in an APA-accredited program in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous clinical experience with medical, psychiatric, and neurological populations.
  • License eligible, including passing the EPPP, and a license from the Minnesota Board of Psychology by start date.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interprofessional skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous provision of psychological services in an academic healthcare environment.
  • Board certification in Clinical Health Psychology or Clinical Psychology.
  • Strong statistical analysis and professional writing skills.
  • Experience in providing clinical care as part of multidisciplinary teams.
