Job SummaryThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in supporting our clinical staff in delivering prescribed treatments to patients with end-stage renal disease. As a PCT, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure safe care and high-quality outcomes for every patient.
Responsibilities- Participate in infection control and risk management activities to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Guide new patients through our 120-day education plan to ensure they understand their treatment and care.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Set up and break down dialysis blood systems for treatment, and insert and remove patient access needles.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and inform the charge nurse of any concerns.
- Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight, and determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
- Maintain professional working relationships, observing patient privacy and rights, and maintain and track inventory.
- Perform laboratory work as needed.
- Paid 12-week training with a preceptor to ensure you have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role.
