Job Title: Public Safety Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Dispatcher to join our team at the City of Benicia, CA. As a Public Safety Dispatcher, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency calls, dispatching police and fire units, and providing critical support to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to emergency calls, including 911 calls and routine requests for service
  • Dispatch police and fire units, including providing critical information and instructions to responders
  • Process and file crime reports, arrest reports, and other police department documents
  • Provide critical support to our community, including answering questions and providing information
Requirements:
  • One year of clerical experience, preferably including experience involving direct public contact
  • Equivalent to graduation from high school
  • Must have successfully completed P.O.S.T. Basic Academy Training and possess a current P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate
  • Must be currently employed as a public safety dispatcher in the state of California
