Biostatistical Consultant II Position Overview

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Biostatistical Consultant II to join our team in the Division of General Internal Medicine. As a key member of our research unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting data management and analysis efforts in health policy, population health, and health services research studies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with investigators to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain statistical analysis plans, programs, and reports to support research studies.
  • Provide expert statistical consultation to researchers, including data visualization and presentation of findings.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and manuscripts, including statistical design and analysis.
  • Supervise biostatistical consultants and data entry operators as needed.

Requirements

A Master's degree in biostatistics or a related field, or an MPH with a concentration in biostatistics, is required. A minimum of three years of experience in statistical consulting, preferably in a biomedical or healthcare environment, is also required. Strong knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or other major statistical packages, as well as Microsoft Office, is essential.


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with EHR and/or administrative claims data.
  • Longitudinal/observational data management experience.
  • Self-starter with a curious and learning-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex statistical concepts effectively.
