Position Overview:
The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist (RVT) plays a crucial role in conducting non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound assessments for patients suffering from peripheral arterial, venous, carotid artery, and renal artery conditions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the department's vision and mission.
  • Perform and document ultrasound evaluations, analyze results, and prepare preliminary reports.
  • Coordinate scheduling of exams to align with other patient assessments and departmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of examination data and relevant patient information.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspaces.
  • Assist in the proper positioning and transfer of patients to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Engage in professional development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-service training, workshops, and departmental meetings.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in assessing treatment ranges and understanding patient growth and development across all age groups.
  • Assist in collecting and documenting quality assurance data for accreditation purposes.
  • Support the collection of quality improvement data for the Clinical Vascular Lab and overall hospital quality initiatives.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, frequently use hands, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. The position also involves bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as the ability to hear and see adequately for effective communication and assessment.


Qualifications:
  • Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Experience in ultrasound technology is essential.
