Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of lab results. You will also assist in the evaluation of new or modified techniques and advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.

Responsibilities

Perform laboratory procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of lab results.

Assist in the evaluation of new or modified techniques and advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.

Develop and maintain department quality assurance and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff, and the public.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, or medical laboratory or equivalent education or training OR successfully completed military training of 50 or more weeks, required.

One year experience as laboratory tech, preferred. MLT certification (or eligible) from ASCP or AMT, required.
