Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prepare patients for examinations by collecting relevant data and ensuring their comfort.

2. Aid in medical evaluations, treatments, and various clinical procedures.

3. Support laboratory tasks, screening assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.


4. Manage incoming calls, providing information or directing inquiries to the appropriate staff, and initiating triage when necessary.


5. Schedule patient appointments and accurately input details into the scheduling system.

6. Conduct follow-up calls to remind patients of their appointments.

7. Welcome and guide patients, visitors, and vendors.

8. Verify and update patient records during the registration process.

9. Ensure proper documentation and modifications in the electronic health record system.

10. Coordinate patient referrals with insurance providers and other healthcare facilities.

11. Collect payments from patients and issue receipts.

12. Organize and maintain patient files.

13. Manage inventory and order necessary supplies.

Education and Experience:


Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by recognized educational bodies, or equivalent qualifications from an accredited institution.


Experience in a clinical environment is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:


Current certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized organization is required. Additionally, CPR or BLS certification must be obtained within a specified timeframe.


Training in medication administration and pharmacology is essential.

Special Physical Demands:
This role involves essential physical tasks that may require reasonable accommodations.

Manual dexterity is necessary for operating equipment and performing clinical tasks. The ability to lift and assist patients is required.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee will frequently stand, walk, and engage in various physical activities.

The role may also require occasional sitting, climbing, and other movements.

Physical exertion of 10 to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is expected.

Specific vision capabilities, including close vision, are necessary for this position.
