About the Tax Team
The City Attorney's Office Tax Team is responsible for providing legal advice and representation to the City on matters related to tax law and dispute resolution. The team works closely with subject matter experts to develop and implement effective strategies for defending the City's interests in tax litigation.
Responsibilities
- Defend the City in tax suits filed by taxpayers, including high-value cases and cases of first impression.
- Work with the Tax Team to develop and implement effective strategies for defending the City's interests in tax litigation.
- Provide legal advice and representation to the City on matters related to tax law and dispute resolution.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of tax law and relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with other City Attorney's Office teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a strong background in tax law and litigation, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on tax law and dispute resolution.
