Job Description

CPM Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our team. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our credit union adheres to all federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor regulatory agencies for proposed, pending, or newly implemented laws/regulations and changes to existing ones.
  • Validate and provide timely and relevant comments on proposed changes.
  • Establish strong rapport with CPM's regulatory counsel, the Carolina Credit Union League, America's Credit Unions, and other regulatory resources.
  • Conduct regular regulatory reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and approve marketing materials and member communications for compliance.
  • Analyze and address compliance-related complaints from members.
  • Provide compliance-related advice and answer questions from management and staff.
  • Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures.
  • Work with Senior Management and other Department Managers to ensure regulatory compliance in key operational areas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in banking or credit union industries.
  • 3-5 years of regulatory compliance experience.
  • Compliance certified or seeking certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) designation preferred or must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting credit unions.
  • Strong understanding of credit union operations, policies, procedures, services, and products.
  • Excellent ability to comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
Work Environment:

This is a remote position, and the successful candidate will be required to work from home with minimal supervision.
