Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program as a Registered Nurse with a current license in the State of Montana
- A minimum of two years of experience in skilled nursing or long-term care, specifically in Nursing Management or as a Charge Nurse
- Preferred: Long-Term Care Administrators License for the State of Montana
Primary Purpose:
The primary objective of the Chief Nursing Officer for Long-Term Care is to oversee, strategize, and coordinate the comprehensive operations of Long-Term Care Nursing Services for Northeast Montana Health Services. This role must adhere to existing federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, as directed by the Chief Executive Officer, to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently delivered.

- Ability to see, hear, or utilize prosthetics that enable these senses to fulfill the requirements of the position

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, implements, assesses, and directs the Nursing Service Department for Long-Term Care along with its associated programs and activities, in compliance with current Medicare and Medicaid participation conditions.
- Ensures quality monitoring through regular audit reports
- Collaborates closely with the Department of Health and Human Services for long-term care evaluations, deficiencies, and corrective action plans
- Guarantees timely submission of all required reports as mandated by federal law, including MDS, monthly staffing reports, nursing care plans/RUGS, and Level 1 Screening/Nursing Assessment
- Coordinates nursing services with other ancillary services to ensure a seamless continuum of care for patients
- Takes proactive steps to conceptualize, plan, and implement new services or enhancements to existing services
- Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing around the clock based on patient needs, including maintaining staffing schedules, recruiting new personnel, and evaluating current staff
- Works in partnership with the Director of Human Resources to revise job descriptions for all levels of nursing staff
- Develops, maintains, and annually updates all nursing-related policy and procedure manuals
- Ensures compliance with personal and staff education requirements to stay informed of regulatory changes
- Participates in medical staff, departmental management, nursing staff, and resident care meetings
- Assists the CEO and CFO in formulating the annual nursing budget
- Facilitates effective communication among all staff members to ensure information is shared appropriately
- Adheres to all policies set forth by Northeast Montana Health Services, including nursing, personnel, OSHA, corporate compliance, HIPAA, and Hazcom/Blood Borne Pathogen policies
