Per Diem Pharmacy Technician Position

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist with functions as allowed by Title VIII, Article 137 of New York State Education Law, such as preparing and dispensing prescription medications. This position works collaboratively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment providing exemplary front line customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Process financial transactions involving OTC items and prescriptions
Complete each transaction following New York State procedures in regards to prescription pick up
Accept payment for items at time of service
Requirements:
High school diploma and 6 months to 1 year relevant experience or equivalent combination
Relevant experience includes cashiering, payment at time-of-service transactions, or as a pharmacy assistant in a retail or clinical setting
High degree of attention to detail, especially in drug accountability, medication accuracy and fiscal responsibility
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and to meet HIPAA requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree with field of study in science, pharmacy technology, or related area
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
One year experience as a pharmacy assistant in the retail or clinical setting
