The Graphic Design Instructor reports to the Business and Technology Department Chair or designee. Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching photography, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Suite in a classroom and lab setting.
- Providing professional leadership in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Participating in professional development activities to enhance teaching and learning.
- Maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborating with administrative functions to support the college's mission.
- Recruiting and advising students.
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:
- An Associate's degree from an accredited college.
- Five years of recent experience in the field and/or relevant teaching experience.
- Ability to understand teaching and evaluation methodologies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sensitivity to diverse student needs.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and manage projects.
Preferred candidates will have:
- A Master's degree in fine arts (MFA) or master's degree in graphic design or visual design (MA).
- Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
The Graphic Design Instructor will:
- Educate students using accepted instructional methodologies.
- Teach courses as assigned, instruct, and evaluate students.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Assess, update, and maintain program curriculum.
- Advise and recruit students.
- Complete administrative responsibilities by required deadlines.
