Endoscopy Technician I

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician I to join our team at Houston Methodist. As an Endoscopy Technician I, you will play a critical role in supporting our gastroenterology providers and other members of the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with gastroenterology endoscopy procedures, including preparation for and assistance with room turnaround activities.
- Support the physician with diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including pertinent observations and anticipation of next steps and possible complications.
- Maintain an orderly work environment, restocking and cleaning rooms, and independently performing assigned cleaning tasks.
- Utilize proper use, handling, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting techniques of endoscopes, equipment, and accessories.
- Promote quality patient care by handling specimens appropriately and entering patient data accurately.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- One (1) year of patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
- Previous endoscopy or direct patient care experience preferred.
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
