We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Scan Technologist to join our team at Howard University Hospital. As a CT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' internal structures.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify patients and review their information for consistency of exam ordered, clinical diagnosis, prep, and demographic information.
- Use appropriate technique and shielding combinations to obtain optimal images while adhering to ALARA principles.
- Assess all information and factors that may contraindicate the exam, such as medications, insufficient preparation, etc.
- Utilize all safety devices on equipment to ensure the safety of patients and technologists.
- Review patients' charts and physicians' requests to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathology.
- Select appropriate images and protocols for each exam.
- Determine the appropriate amount of contrast agent to be administered based on patients' age, weight, and requested procedure.
- Administer contrast agents according to established guidelines.
- Monitor patients during contrast injections for contrast infiltration or reactions and notify radiologists and emergency response teams when required.
- Graduate of a certified/accredited ARRT program required.
- Two years' experience as a CT technologist and certified.
- Must be registered technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technology required.
- ARRT advanced certification in CT required.
- BLS through American Heart Association.
