Job Summary:

A Quality NDT Technician is responsible for performing systems checks and calibration, non-destructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and recording of results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.

• Participate in Radiation safety Programs to maintain a safe working environment.

• Ensure the work or radiation area is controlled to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Calibrate radiographic testing equipment as required to maintain accuracy and precision.

• Conduct radiographic tests to detect discontinuities and ensure quality.

• Establish techniques for proper examination of welds under inspection while adhering to safety rules and regulations.

• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.

• Interpret radiographs to identify defects and anomalies.

• Organize and report test results to management for review and analysis.

• Complete, maintain, and/or submit daily radiation reports for management review, as required.

• Perform specialized inspections as required to ensure compliance with industry standards.

• May train and/or provide direction to new hires to ensure a smooth transition.

• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management to ensure the success of the team.

Requirements:

• Prior certification as an NDT Level II in Radiography is required.

• Digital radiography experience is required.

• Completion of RT formal training per SNT-TC1A is required.

• Prior certification as an NDT Level I or II with experience hours towards certification to Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on one or more of the following is preferred: UT, VT, MT, or PT.

• Industrial Radiographers Certification Card is preferred.

• Completion of a forty (40) hour Radiation Safety Course is preferred.

• To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Adaptability: ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.

• Quality: demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality.

• Safety: actively promotes safety procedures and uses all equipment and materials properly.

• Demonstrated proficiency with computers and MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to interface effectively within and across teams both internally and externally as required.

• Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.

This position requires an individual to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
