Job Summary

Central Arizona College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach composition courses, either face-to-face or via asynchronous online modalities. We are looking for applicants to teach one or more of the following areas of study, including Elementary Spanish I and Elementary Spanish II.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Preparation: Teach assigned classes in accordance with college policy and in the assigned modalities, including face-to-face, online synchronous, online asynchronous, hybrid, Weekend College, accelerated, evening, or late start classes on any campus, site, or center as directed by the division chair or program director.
  • Instructional Materials: Develop, prepare, and evaluate instructional materials that promote learning, along with the willingness to utilize alternative teaching techniques and instructional technology where appropriate.
  • Student Progress: Maintain records of student progress and performance; complete and return required reports to the appropriate office by established due dates.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with division chairs, program directors, other faculty, and other programs to review and maintain the integrity of the curriculum within established college timelines or more frequently if necessary.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development activities, cultivate development of instructional programs, and knowledge of trends, pedagogy, andragogy, and new technologies.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in a related field (Spanish) or Master's degree in any field with 18 hours of credit in a related field.
