About the Position:

This role is located at the School Age Program, Department of the Air Force Child and Youth Programs. The position may be eligible for FY25 recruitment incentives, subject to funding approval.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and supervision to children and youth in a group program setting.
  • Assist in planning and conducting activities for program participants, including indoor and outdoor activities, field trips, and special events.
  • Prepare and serve snacks and meals as needed.
  • Execute work in accordance with policies and regulations, including transportation of children in government vehicles.
  • Coordinate and conduct activities for children and youth, creating an environment that welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions.
  • Implement daily schedules and activity plans to ensure age/stage appropriateness.
  • Conduct inventory of equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent, with proof of diploma or equivalent for verification.
  • For the Target Level, 18 months of experience working in a childcare or youth program, plus completion of DoD-approved competency-training courses, is required.
  • For the Intermediate Level, six months of experience equivalent to the CY-01 Entry Level, plus completion of 3 AF modules and AF Orientation Training Program, is required.
  • For the Entry Level, no previous experience is required, but education substitution may be used to qualify.
Additional Information:

Child Development Program will provide 100% child care fee discount for all CYP direct care staff for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for any additional children of direct care staff. Direct care staff must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom, including flex employees who average 15 hours a week.
