Specialized Geriatric Adult Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. in serving elderly populations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a human service area or be a Licensed clinician with a degree in a human service area. They will have one year of experience working with the geriatric population and one year of experience working with individuals within the Mental Health and Geriatric Field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Educate long-term care facility staff on various topics through in-service training classes
  2. Provide consultation to Long Term Care (LTC) facilities on behavior management, crisis planning, and intervention techniques
  3. Educate LTC facilities and families on how to coordinate care with mental health providers
  4. Provide case consultations as requested by LTC facility staff
  5. Network with LTC facilities and community agencies
  6. Document all services provided
  7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  8. Assist with referrals to community-based services
  9. Provide resource information to LTC staff
  10. Consult/collaborate with other healthcare providers as appropriate
  11. Maintain certifications and required training
  12. Maintain equipment in operating condition
  13. Submit reports for billing purposes
  14. Record expenditures on required forms
  15. Travel to provide education and training
  16. Attend meetings related to the position

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in a human service area or a Licensed clinician with a degree in a human service area
  • One year of experience working with the geriatric population per state regulations
  • One year of experience working with individuals within the Mental Health and Geriatric Field
  • No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
  • A valid NC Driver's License and clean SBI/DMV Report
  • At least 8 years of driving experience
  • Able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 25lbs
  • Repetitive lifting and carrying of approximately 15lbs
  • Able to sit for periods of time, walk for several hours with breaks
  • Able to squat and climb at times
  • Able to operate a vehicle in varying weather conditions

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
