Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an exceptional Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology department. As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in helping diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases in companion animals. Your expertise will be essential in performing basic and advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tests, setting up and assisting with procedures and surgeries, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests, including tear quantity, glaucoma testing, and ulcer testing
- Assist with procedures and surgeries, including diamond burr debridement, CO2 laser treatment, and eyelid surgeries
- Place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs, and perform and monitor sedation/anesthesia
- Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies
- Provide exceptional patient care and educate clients on their pet's ocular disease and care

Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Experience in ophthalmology or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
