Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Execute clinical competence in cardiac sonography, demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
    • Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program, meeting and maintaining all Program standards and requirements.
  • Technical Skills
    • Apply knowledge of cardiac sonography principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, physics, positioning, and patient care skills.
    • Adhere to Joint Commission, State, Federal, and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Document accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
    • Ensure a safe and appropriate work environment, maintaining supplies and inventory in area.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality.
    • Take a leadership role in departmental and organizational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound Educational Program.
  • Experience
    • 5+ years of experience in cardiac sonography.
  • Licensures/Certifications
    • RDMS certification OR CCI certification.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
