Job Responsibilities
The Screening and Packaging Specialist plays a critical role in our production process, ensuring that products are visually screened and packaged according to visual aids, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements. This position requires attention to detail, accuracy, and a can-do attitude to meet customer due dates.
- Record data on work orders and inspection reports, and report any issues that arise.
- Read work order routings to obtain packaging methods and retrieve data from QAD when necessary.
- Issue materials to work orders and receive products against work orders through QAD.
- Verify transactions to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Complete verification steps for packing slips and move to the next step.
- Visually screen parts as needed, following instructions from the quality department.
- Weigh, count, and package parts according to work order routings or visual aids.
- Clean and package products according to department standards.
- Maintain inventory of supplies used in the department and submit requisitions to purchasing.
- Complete cycle counts as requested by planning.
- Complete DMRs when non-conforming products are found.
- Work with the manager and lead to prioritize tasks and ensure customer due dates are met.
- Read, interpret, and verify work instructions, making any necessary corrections through proper channels.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Intermediate math skills, including decimals, fractions, and S.I. units.
- Previous experience screening materials in an ISO 9100 environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with general knowledge of machining practices.
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent walking, occasional sitting, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, standing, lifting, twisting, gripping, arm/leg/wrist/finger movement.
- Frequent lifting of materials from the floor to waist weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
- Fine motor skills for handling parts and cleaning tools.
- Ability to pass an aerospace eye exam.

The local pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, which can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is eligible for periodic bonus payments, with a targeted bonus amount up to 10% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range for this position is $41,100 to $45,700, including hourly pay rate and bonus. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
