Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Project Engineer at Our Home, a leading company in the Food Production industry. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various projects across multiple locations, primarily in Lancaster, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible equipment costs while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare financial projections and perform cost calculations to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with the project team to create and maintain work schedules.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and test prototypes to validate design feasibility and performance.
  • Analyze system data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and production personnel to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including diagrams, engineering specifications, and operating manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and government regulations, as well as safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Recommend and implement cost-effective solutions to reduce manufacturing expenses while maintaining product quality and employee safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and developments in manufacturing engineering.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team and the organization.
  • Present project progress updates to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the food production industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing industry regulations.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and safety standards in food production.
  • Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and project management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • On-location at Lancaster Ohio Plant (70%), with approximately 30% additional travel to other locations in the US.
