We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Histology Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing microscopic slide preparations for diagnostic and prognostic analysis by our pathologists.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of technical procedures to create microscopic slide preparations, including accessioning specimens, specimen processing, and microtomy techniques.
- Apply technical theory to provide operational support and maintain optimal testing activities.
- Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends as needed.
- Associate degree in a related field, such as histotechnology or medical laboratory technology.
- Coursework in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology, including 24 semester hours.
- Histology Technician certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
- Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited program.
- Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off shifts, holidays, on-call, and weekend work assignments.
