About the Role
The American Heart Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Director to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a key member of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for generating revenue to support our mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to achieve revenue goals and support the Association's mission.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-level corporate and individual donors, identifying and pursuing new opportunities for growth and engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute campaigns, events, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Provide staff support in planning, developing, and implementing fundraising strategies, ensuring alignment with Association goals and best practices.
- Ensure effective management of donor relationships, including stewardship, recognition, and communication.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to drive growth.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to inform fundraising strategies and tactics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in generating revenue and building relationships with high-level donors.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and strategies, including donor-centric approaches and relationship-building techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally nationally, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting or moving required.
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience, with a focus on business, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders, including C-suite executives.
- Knowledge of corporate and community networks, with a strong understanding of the Hawaii market.
Compensation and Benefits
The American Heart Association offers a competitive salary range of $79,600 to $90,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to a base salary, this role is eligible for an incentive bonus based on performance. The Association also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, as well as a robust retirement program with employer match and automatic contribution.
