Job Summary

The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor plays a vital role in the Clinical Nutrition Department, overseeing the nutrition support service process and supervising a team of dietitians. This position requires a strong background in clinical nutrition and excellent leadership skills to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate documentation for quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the nutrition support service team processes and adult care dietitians, ensuring seamless coordination and effective communication.
  • Provide patient nutrition care, conducting thorough assessments and developing personalized plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Train adult care dietitians on accurate documentation of malnutrition, ensuring compliance with quality measures and reimbursement requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for clinical nutrition topics, providing expert guidance and support to dietitians and other disciplines.
  • Prepare schedules for adult care dietitians to accommodate nutrition support and patient care needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Participate in quality patient care committees as needed, contributing to the development of best practices and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Clinical Nutrition & Informatics to monitor team member performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct nutrition support research, staying up-to-date on the latest evidence-based practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree from an Academy of Dietetics (AND) accredited institution and/or approved internship program.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year Clinical Nutrition experience in Inpatient/Outpatient Care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commission on Dietetic Registration certified RD/RDN.
  • South Carolina Dietetic Licensure.
  • Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSC) preferred.
