Position Summary:
As a key member of our team, the Telecommunications Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless communication within our organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Professionally and promptly handles all incoming calls, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate extension.
- Accurately takes and delivers messages in a timely manner.
- Responds to urgent and emergency calls from patients, directing them to clinical staff as needed.
- Performs essential operator functions, including call triaging, connecting and transferring calls, setting up conference calls, and providing guidance on telephone procedures.
- Reports any telephone or equipment issues to the relevant personnel.
- Acts as a friendly and supportive point of contact for all callers.
- Manages the opening and closing of the switchboard.
- Oversees the in-house paging system.
- Completes clerical tasks as assigned to support departmental workflow.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of five years of office experience, ideally in a healthcare environment.
