The Communications Technician II plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Install and terminate cable and fiber optic connections
- Build and maintain telecommunications closets and equipment rooms
- Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure system integrity
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years of experience in telecommunications or related field
- Proven technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
The Communications Technician II will work in a fast-paced environment, often in confined spaces and at heights. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
Tools and EquipmentThe Communications Technician II will be required to use a variety of tools and equipment, including screwdrivers, drywall saws, and cable strippers. The position also requires the use of a tone set and a 6/8 position combo crimp tool.
