CNC Machinist Technician

Job Description:

• CNC Programming: Create setup charts for manufacturing operations, route new parts, revise current routings and setup charts as changes occur, process engineering change notices, and initiate required manufacturing changes
• Documentation: Develop setup charts including necessary information for manufacturing operations, create routing for new parts showing machines, tooling, and processes in sequence, revise current routings and setup charts as needed, and process engineering change notices
• Methods: Determine manufacturing methods for new parts considering existing equipment or requesting new equipment if necessary, improve current methods by studying usage of manpower, machines, costs, workplace efficiency, material handling, workflow, part design, and types of manufactured parts
• Solutions: Assist in solving manufacturing problems, gain or possess knowledge of all machines and controls in the manufacturing area, create programs for new and current parts using suitable machines and tooling, collaborate with machines to achieve optimal use, emphasize quality, simplicity of operation, and consistency in programming methods

Requirements:

• Education: Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in machine technology with an emphasis in NC/CNC Programming, or three to four years related experience in machining environments and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience: Proficiency in programming CNC mills and/or lathes, ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometer, depth micrometer, bore micrometer, and height gauges, understanding of blueprints, and familiarity with GD&T
• Fanuc and Haas Control Panels Knowledge
• Setup Fixturing and Tooling: Including machine offsets
• High Degree of Patience and Attention to Detail
• Preferred Skills: Knowledge of hand G-code programming and/or experience with Mastercam X8/NC-CAM 7/CNC mill and lathe
• Must be able to Follow Safety Policies and Wear PPE: Steel-toed boots, eye protection, hearing protection, and metatarsal guards
