About the Role
Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients. This role will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI scans and collaborating closely with orthopaedic surgeons to ensure accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Procedure Execution: Perform MRI imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions, adhering to accepted standards of practice and protocols.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Maintenance and Quality Control: Maintain equipment, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot problems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Clinical Judgment: Exercise strong clinical judgment to make informed decisions about patient care and procedure protocols.
- Collaboration and Communication: Cooperate with facility healthcare professionals, interact effectively with patients, and provide clear instructions and documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education and Certifications: Hold a valid, current, unrestricted Wisconsin state radiation operator certificate and be certified as an MRI Technologist.
- Skills and Abilities: Possess excellent verbal communication skills, proficiency in basic arithmetic, and knowledge of medical anatomy and terminology.
- Physical and Mental Demands: Meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
Work Environment
The primary work environment is the MRI department within the orthopedic hospital, requiring frequent interaction with patients and adherence to strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
Compensation
The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
