About the Role

Jasper Engines & Transmissions is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team in the Chicago, IL area. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for cultivating business relationships with customers in the automotive industry, focusing on independent repair facilities, local fleets, city and government entities, marinas, and national accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize a proven sales system with supportive marketing materials to develop and implement plans to take advantage of all sales opportunities for assigned customers in the territory.
  • Work with small businesses and regional managers of large worldwide fleets to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Perform needs assessments and develop sales proposals and presentations to effectively communicate the value of Jasper Engines & Transmissions' products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including inside sales, customer service, production, and distribution, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
  • Plan and manage accounts to maximize sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Introduce new products and updates to customers, highlighting their benefits and value proposition.
  • Develop and build long-term value-based relationships with customers, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities to drive growth and expansion in the territory.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Hunter sales mentality and motivation as a self-starter.
  • Automotive background or knowledge, with a strong understanding of the industry and its trends.
  • Integrity and honesty, with a commitment to building trust with customers and colleagues.
What We Offer
  • Competitive starting base salary of $60k to $75k, based on experience, qualifications, and the cost of living associated with the location.
  • Opportunity to earn quarterly bonuses based on growth within the territory.
  • Plan to move to full commission and maximize earnings.
